Give Your Group a Truly Memorable Day
“Colbert Hills will undoubtedly provide players of all levels with a golfing experience that is truly world class. Colbert Hills provides the ultimate in service and lasting golfing memories for all that challenge the course.” – Co-designer and PGA Tour player Jim Colbert.
This past year, more than 125 outings and tournaments were played at Colbert Hills. The staff at our club is hard at work now setting up events for this year, which is sure to be very busy as well. “Every imaginable type of group has scheduled outings with us,” said David Gourlay, director of golf operations and general manager, “ many of them are charities who are holding fund-raisers.”
There’s a reason why Colbert Hills has become so popular with groups of all kinds for golf outings. In fact there are many good reasons why, but first and foremost, you’ll find that we provide the ultimate in service to help you put on a successful event. Here is a summary of some of the top factors that persuade groups, businesses, charities and friends to hold their events with us:

1 – We have a world-class championship golf course. This is a course that has a national reputation, in part because it’s home to the Kansas State University men’s and women’s golf teams. It’s known as the “Big Course” in Kansas because of its length from the Black and Blue tees, our “bruiser tees,’ that measure a full 7,525 yards. And yet, this is also a course that players of many skill levels can enjoy because we have provided seven teeing areas on every hole.
2 – The conditions on the course are superb. The fantastic conditions are reflect partly because of the advanced computerized irrigation and drainage system that was installed during the construction phase and supplimented by carefully monitored course maintenance done by our highly skilled staff. Basically, our season for golfing here lasts from March through December. This is an area of Kansas that is known for its milder winters. Our fairways were sodded, not seeded, with zoysia, a type of grass that resists disease and fungus yet provides an outstanding playing surface for fairways.
3 – We offer very affordable event packages. Our Colbert package, for Friday, Saturday or Sunday events, is available for $79 per golfer. The Bruiser package, for Monday through Thursday events, costs $64. Each package includes a full course menu of ammenities including carts, range balls, hole in one prizes, GPS on each cart, a live leaderboard on the golf carts, scoring, pre and after tournament assistance and a bounce back discount coupons for every player! Now thats a deal!
4 – We can feed your hungry players. We also offer a complete catering menu. Among the possibilities: continental breakfast ($6 per golfer); box lunch ($6.25 per golfer); brisket barbecue ($8.25); fried chicken with cole slaw and potato salad and other trimmings ($9.20); hors d’oeuvres parties ($8.95). We have many other food options available; just ask us what we can do to make your event unique.
5 – We have thought of every possible detail in order to serve you and your group. Our tournament package includes: pre-planning, professional tournament set-up, green fees, use of golf carts with global positioning systems, use of the driving range and other practice facilities, golf bag handling and club cleaning, golf cart signs with players names and start times, welcome letters with rules of play, scorecards with players’ names, a registration table, help with special event contests and scoring, a live leaderboard on the cart to see how your group is doing in relation to the rest of the field, and much, much more.
6 – Decisions, decisions – let us help you with them. When it comes to tournament formats, there are a host of options that can be confusing if you’ve never used them before: scramble, best ball, handicapping. What do those terms mean? Depending on the size of the group and the level of the golfers’ skills, selecting the right format can be tricky. Ask us to help you find the format that best suits your outing.
7 -- We have an outgoing and friendly staff. From the moment you drive into our parking lot, our staff will be at your service for the day of the tournament and will impress your guests with our friendliness. We aim to provide the best outing package in Kansas and in the Midwest. “A lot of teamwork goes into our events,” said Michelle Chapman, our tournament director. “Everyone from the top down is willing to play different roles to make your outing a success.
8 – We have an outstanding list of possible prizes for your players. The Colbert Hills Pro shop offers a great selection of merchandise that would be a great addition to your event. You can provide gifts for every golfer that range from a sleeve of logo balls and bag of tees ($6) to a logo golf towel ($10-$15). Or how about a hat or visor or a wind vest? You can even put your corporate logo on various items available. Once your event is complete, the winning golfers love to utilize gift certificates to buy apparel or other merchandise from our pro shop.
9 – Do your players need a little tune-up on their golf skills? Group golf instruction programs and clinics can be conducted for your outing participants. Let us handle this as our golf professionals have gained a reputation for quick and fun instruction that really works!
